Pepperdine University's Youth Citizenship Seminar

The Southern California Youth Citizenship Seminar at Pepperdine University is designed to provide a creative opportunity for outstanding high school juniors such to interact with today's leaders, explore current national and world topics, discuss constructive solutions to critical issues, and share memorable interaction with their peers.

The Americanism Educational League is proud to help sponsor and be a part of this outstanding program, which fulfills the essence of AEL's mission statement "to instill citizenship and patriotism in America's youth".

Held each June on the Pepperdine campus, this weeklong seminar is open to high school juniors who are nominated by a school advisor on the basis of their character and leadership potential and embody a unique desire to make a contribution to America's future.

If the potential applicant is from Southern California, they should be able to contact their high school guidance counselor/college advisor, who should have all the necessary information. If their school does not have the information or they are home-schooled please contact Pepperdine (see below) with the students full name and high school name and location and they'll make sure the application materials get to that applicant.

Applications are closed for the June 2009 YCS. For information about the 2010 YCS visit the program's website: http://pepperdineycs.com/ contact: Minda.Miyamoto@pepperdine.edu, or the AEL office.
