This competition is open to college and university students with majors in journalism, mass media and electronic communication, but is not limited to those majors. Investigative reporting requires documentary research, the use of public and private records, interviewing and other journalistic skills with a focus on the accountability of individuals and institutions wielding power.

Rules for Entry

Topics must be of general interest and subjects may include but are not limited to politics, government, economics, education, social issues, community activism and health care.

  • Submissions must have been published or broadcast in some public forum no later than February 28, 2012
  • Radio/Television taped submissions: no longer than 15 minutes
  • One copy only of contest material need be submitted, along with website information if possible
  • Postmark deadline for entries: March 15, 2012

Competition is open to part-time or full-time students enrolled in any college or university in the United States. For further information contact:
